War Child provides opportunities and long term solutions for war-affected children, focusing on education, strengthening children's rights, reducing poverty and fostering self reliance. War Child works in partnership with local people and organizations to build sustainable programming that empowers children and their communities. Working closely with the music industry, War Child provides awareness, support and action for children's rights everywhere.
Among other projects, War Child runs a school rehabilitation project in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a girls' education initiative and child legal defence project in Uganda, and a women's community support project in Afghanistan. It has been assisting displaced children and young people in Georgia since 2004, and is one of the very few organizations continuing to work successfully in Darfur, Sudan. War Child also focuses on engaging North American youth and emphasizing the importance of global responsibility.
